Salt Mines/Ice Cave

I am so blessed! A week ago I had the opportunity to go with the language students as well as th highschool kids to visit some salt mines and an Ice cave in the state of Salzburg (not to be confused with the city of Salzburg) and it was sooo beautiful. It had been raining here for 2 weeks straight but on the day we planned to go to Salzburg God gave us sunshine. Our first stop was the salt mine. Once we got there we all had to change into a white pant/top suit and we all looked so funny! Once we had changed into our protective clothing we hopped n a small train into the underground. It was so neat because we crossed the Germany Austria border while underground. We got the opportunity to ride some slides that the miners used to use and my group slid at a speed of 24 km/hr, I think that's pretty good for a 43 meter long slide! I had such a blast. The young kids from the gymnasium (highschool) were constantly calling my name, somehow they find my reaction to almost everything amusing. While we were in the mine I remember thinking to myself how lucky, no better said blessed I am. God is so good to me and I have no idea why. Because I am a S.M. I was able to go at no expense. I remember thinking of my dear mom and my family back home, I remember wishing for them that one day they might be able to travel and experience new things like I have been able to. My mom works so hard it would be so neat for her to get the opportunity to come. I just know that for myself it really made me realize once again the love that God has towards me, and it made me remember how good He has been to me.
Later we drove to an area where we hiked up a mountain, ride a gondalla near to the top, and then hike another 20 minutes to the top. Once at the top we proceded to make our way into a ice cave. Upon entering the ice cave, a huge blast of wind hit us and the tour guide said that on some days the wind is going as fast as 90 km/hr. Once inside virtually everything was ice. We climbed up 720 stairs and of course we climbed back down 720 stairs. The temperature inside was 0 degrees but outside I was in a tank top!
Again I must write, I don't know why God is so good to me. Why God has given me so many things, I only ask that I would continue to be grateful. I pray that for each one of you reading this today God may be as gracious to you as He has been to me. Sorry it took me so long to write something new in my blog
